Whatever your choice - we have the right filter technology!
We describe here the four most established filter technologies in brief. If you want to read more about the industry's different filter technologies, order the "VITBOK - choice of filter technology" or read it online here.
The key message the Filter Technology White Paper aims to convey is that there is not just one technology that is superior to all others, but that there are a number of technologies that work more or less well, depending on the customer's circumstances, and that should be taken into account in the final selection and procurement process. And when something sounds too good to be true, it usually turns out to be.
Collecta pressure filter
Our Collecta pressure filters are made entirely of glass fibre reinforced polyester, giving them superior strength and durability. All Collecta pressure filters can be adapted to existing premises. The filters can be manufactured to any height if required and are supplied in two or three pieces which are then laminated together to form a unit on site. Thanks to the fact that all connections are laminated, leakage via tank penetrations is avoided. The filters are equipped with a fixed nozzle base and high-quality nozzles in PP. Internally, the filters are equipped with a high-quality vinyl ester liner which has good resistance to osmosis.
Characteristics
- Flush inside sight glasses avoid turbulence and the accumulation of filter material on the inside of the sight glass.
- Specially designed distribution chamber improves water hydraulics inside the filter
- Brackets for vent line
- Laminated lifting eyes
Options
- Performance kit (Flush inside manholes and flow diverter
- Higher pressure class (4 or 6 bar)
- Ozone applications (e.g. contact tanks)
- Extra sight glass and manhole covers
- Lighting fixture for sight glass
- Shared execution for inward transport
- in confined spaces
- Customised height
- Extra sight glass
Collecta - Complete pressure filter systems
Functional and cost-effective.
We offer complete pressure filter systems, where the design and components are selected and combined to provide the best performance. You ensure the right function and also save time and money on a quick installation. With our prefabricated system solutions, the Collecta filter is customised for maximum performance and flexibility.
Collecta Adriatic
Robust filter in GAP with fixed nozzle base. Standard version with 1.0 m filter bed, but can also be supplied with 1.2 m bed, complete with pipework for water flushing and first filtrate.
Collecta Mediterranean
Deep bed filtration, generous dimensions, sieve glass, laminated connections, fixed nozzle base and stilling chamber and a compressed height make Mediterran a high performance filter suitable for most applications.
Collecta Atlantic
The flagship literally stands on its own two feet and is an uncompromising filter offering the highest performance and flexibility. Extra large sight glass and inspection hatch under the nozzle base. Designed according to DIN19605/19643 and handles air flushing as well as counter-pressureless water flushing with the top cover removed.
Collecta suction filter
- Can be customised to suit building conditions - e.g. confined spaces, low ceilings, narrow doorways or limited drainage. The filters can be site-built
- Handling high loads - uncompromising deep-bed filtration
- Improved operational and self-monitoring - pressureless filter with large inspection windows
- Optimised flushing - cleaner filters at lower operating costs
- Flexible - can be supplemented with different filter media as needed
- All collecta suction filters are equipped with internal lighting
Energy efficient
Collecta suction filters are an energy-efficient solution. In cases where the filter system is placed higher than the pool's water surface, energy consumption is significantly reduced with Collecta suction filters compared to pressure filters. The savings are due to the fact that the water does not need to be lifted as high in a suction filter and thus reduces the power consumption of the pumps.

Filter media
Filter media - optimised filtration for all needs
EnviroProcess offers a wide range of filter media, tested and carefully selected and adapted to fulfil different filter types and conditions. The choice of filter media is crucial for the efficient use of the plant's treatment capacity. EnviroProcess contributes with its expertise in the field and high-quality filter media that both improve water quality and optimise energy consumption.
Pressurised sand filters and filter sand
For pressurised sand filters, it is important to choose a filter media with low pressure drop and easy cleaning. Filter sand, or silica sand, is a popular solution. Grain size and distribution are critical factors - too fine sand can block quickly while too coarse sand risks filter breakthrough. EnviroProcess offers sand with optimal grain distribution, meeting the requirements of SS-EN 12904, for high capacity and efficient flushing.
Activated carbon and hydroanthracite
Activated carbon is made from various materials such as wood and coconut shells and has a high adsorption capacity, particularly effective in reducing organic pollutants and THMs. Stone carbon is best for larger molecules while coconut carbon is ideal for smaller pollutants. Hydroanthracite-H, made from lignite, is often used in multi-layer filters and combines low weight with high dirt-holding capacity.
Glass beads as an alternative to sand
Glass beads offer a higher permeability than sand, leading to lower pressure drop and reduced energy consumption. These polished glass beads are free of impurities and provide efficient filtration with rapid expansion during backwashing, minimising water consumption.
Powder filters: Diatomite and Perlite
Powder filters, using filter media such as diatomite or perlite, are compact and have low flushing water consumption. Diatomite, with its irregular surfaces, offers sharp filtration properties but is harmful if inhaled. Perlite, safer from a health point of view, requires careful selection of quality and grain size for effective filtration.
