Trichloramine (TCA) - Measurement and analysis in bathing facilities Trichloramine is formed when nitrogenous substances (e.g. sweat and urine) react with the disinfectant in the bathing water. Trichloramine is a volatile gas which, when released from the bathing water, pollutes the room air. Exposure to trichloramine in bathing facilities is mainly via inhalation.
